Midnight Mini Reviews...

It's almost 1 am and I have lots of shows to review. Dead to Me in Chino and it's punk rock epicness needs to be covered along with tonight's ever so delightful Best Coast show. Not to mention a recap of Hello Kitty's 50th Anniversary VIP party Thursday night. But as my Midnight Reviews are supposed to be low pressure throw journalistic caution to the wind and just pour out thoughts and feelings of pertaining to the show. A 1am review gets even shorter, so with a true Midnight Review pending. Here is a midnight mini review of the following events...

Dead to Me:
2 feet away from falling into the mic a broken nail and hoarse voice were souvenirs from my punk rock show. Dressed like I was on my way to a spelling bee and not a warehouse show in Chino, I held my own while the boys of Dead to Me ripped into their inspiring and raw songs.

Hello Kitty Art Show:
Artful rooms dedicated to all that is Sanrio and Hello Kitty. Where grit met glitter and Sanrio friends we seamlessly integrated into the world of some very familiar characters. The animals of Joe Ledbetter balanced with Pachaco and Kuropie while Camilla d'Errico's helmet girls wore a Sanrio inspired head piece.

Best Coast:
A modest sized venue fit the innocent sincerity that is Best Coast. Nothing over the top or showy, just a good heartfelt show. With lyrics that could have been pulled from any adolescent girls daisy covered diary (locked up with a hidden heart shaped key), they create songs of forlorn and triumph that all (at any age) can understand and relate too.
